South Pacific News and features / Books in 10 island languages
« Last post by ipacific on May 18, 2016, 01:46:28 PM »
The Institute of Education based in the University of the South Pacific In Fiji covers a few educational programs, one of which is our publications unit.

The Institute of Education are publishers of local and regional authors who base their stories on Pacific Island Cultures which makes it have a personal approach towards children who grew up or are from Pacific Island countries. The books range from educational to research material, journals and children’s books labelled “waka” story books. The publications are printed in 10 different languages, from English, Samoan, Niuean, Kiribati, Tuvaluan, Bislama, Fijian etc.

The Institute of Education believes in getting all Pacific Islanders to understand their culture and traditions through the use of educational books, children’s story books written in one’s own language.

Travel advice and tips / Retire In Samoa?
« Last post by Todd.P on May 07, 2016, 01:24:14 PM »
My wife and I are looking for a place to retire with our 4 year old daughter.  We have a retirement pension of about $2,000 per month, and enough cash to buy a house and lot and car.  We are all US Citizens, but my wife is also a native Filipina.  We own land on Luzon, but are concerned about safety there due to recent events.  Last night, I had a dream about Samoa - but do not know much about it.  So, I need to ask if this is a place where we could retire, or should we look elsewhere?  Thanks.
