Toa o Samoa; 48 soldiers return

American Samoa welcomed home 48 soldiers of Bravo and Charlie companies of the US Army Reserves who were deployed to Kuwait.

In a brief ceremony at the airport this morning, Governor Togiola joined Lieutenant Governor Faoa Sunia, to welcome home Toa o Samoa, who arrived in an aircraft chartered by the military.

Gov. Togiola’s remarks to soldiers

“It gives me great pleasure and honor to be standing here on behalf of the Territory and the people of American Samoa to welcome you home, our Toa o Samoa.

The people of American Samoa --your people-- and the government of American Samoa --your government-- together, are happy and proud to join in thanksgiving for your safe return.

Know in your hearts that the hearts of Tutuila and Manu’a are more than grateful. We all say thank you for your service to America and American Samoa, and we also say thank you to your respective families for their many sacrifices during your deployment.
