Samoan word of the Day: Nov. 23: Lepa ia ile foe
« on: March 10, 2010, 10:53:35 AM »

Samoan word of the Day:

Lepa ia ile foe - keep the boat still with the paddle

Thus says the fisherman to the rower when he wants to begin fishing.
The expression is also used in fono (legislature) when one wishes to interrupt a speaker (Lauga).
