American Samoa Flag

(1/1)

Tavita Tusitala:
The American Samoa flag

Penina O le Vasaloloa:
Love the design of the flag. When I was at a swap meet in Honolulu, one of the vendors, a couple was selling the "American Samoa" flag.  It was large. However, to my dismay...as I looked at the artwork closely, the eagle's tail feathers seemed quite short and stunted. It didn't seem proportionate to the rest of the eagles body, and of course looked like something that was mass produced. The couple kept on insisting that it was the "real" flag, like Am. Samoa's flag. lol The material was flimsy, silky and lightweight.

I told them that it didn't look authenticate enough, that the eagle's tail feathers looked too short, and resembled something akin to a chicken's tail feathers. As, I asked to see the label, the couple insisted that it was all good... Yeah, good enough to sell  for $125.00!
As I turned the label and saw..".Made in China"...
I duly thanked them and walked away.
